Just another day hanging around at home!

Thursday, October 13, 2011

On September 17th (Happy Birthday Crosby), Greenwood had their Annual 300 Oaks Road Race. This was my second year to run the 10K so the kids were all ready to give me a high five when I ran by at mile 4!

Then Clif and the kids & Ruby hopped on the golf cart and came down closer to the finish line. Yeah me!
After the race there was a 1 mile fun run for the kids which Parker (and me) ran in. We forgot her number and she almost gave up until dad saved the day and ran home and got her number.

And then she kicked it into high gear!

And we crossed the finish line as winners!!

I look forward to next year running with Parker AND Bennett!

Random, fun pictures from September. One afternoon I was bringing in the wreaths that were on my front door and a lizard jump off and ran into the house. Parker and Lizzy took to each other immediately as you can see on her left shoulder.

One morning we awoke to loud banging noises and found City employees jackhammering the sidewalk. Of course we were late that day because Bennett was very interested in what was going on.

Just a little fun in the bubble bath!

Not sure about the mischievous face Bennett is making here but Langley was having a ball!

I couldn't believe it myself. I picked her up from school and I wanted to grab a little jog so I thought she could ride her bike along side of me. Then I suggested that we take her training wheels off and she agreed. We started on the sidewalk first since there is grass on both sides. She got on and I gave her a push and she was off. She never fell and just kept riding. She was able to stop and get off too! I was in complete amazement!! She has trouble getting started but can stop and turn without trouble. So we set off on are little walking track with Penny and I got a jog in! Of course when Bennett got home he wanted to take his off as well and it went pretty good. I think he will have it with just a little practice. They are getting so big!

Lulu at the church nursery

Sunday, October 02, 2011

Tropical Storm Lee couldn't keep all of us Parkers and Barnes away from Gulfport for the Baptisms of Crosby, Cannon and Charlie at St. Thomas Catholic Church. We all gathered together and had a wonderful time. Below are some pictures I have but I would love to see everyone one else's pictures. Below Langely and Josie are reading books.

Langley and Josie sharing the car and riding in the rain at the Berry's house.

They were moving so fast! Crosby chasing behind Bennett.
Sarah overseeing the fun!

Langley and her daddy watching something I think.

Lindsey and Nancy braved the weather with us too! And even got a little shopping in!

The big boys minus two

The little girls with Charlie napping in the background.

Langley, Taylor and Parker doing a little coloring at the playstation setup in the garage.

We tried to get a picture of all of the grandchildren at the church but I'm not sure if anyone got any good ones yet. Please send to me if you did. Not sure what was being said in this pictures but it sure looks like Parker is trying to explain something to Aunt Lauren. Lauren - please let me know if you can remember. It looks very interesting!

This is the best picture that I have...send me yours if it is better!

Langley and Parker having fun

Getting ready for the baptisms in the hall of the church. St. Thomas is a very pretty and large church that is on Hwy 90 right across from the ocean. It is very nice even during a tropical storm.

We did find some beach time. Here are some pictures that Michael took at the beach.

Random pictures from the last days of summer. I really wanted this picture to be the last you saw but I can't really seem to load the pictures the way I want you to see them without putting a lot of thought into it and I just don't have the extra brain capacity at this moment. I just want to get the pictures loaded so that you can all see what my imaginative kids are up to. Yes -- this is a redneck hot tub. I know that is what you were all thinking. Once they were done playing in the warm water they filled it up with dirt and made a home for the frog that they found.

I knew they were coming in and out a lot but I didn't realize what was going on. Parker tied her scarf between the trees and draped her blanket it over it. They brought a lantern and all the other survival necessities hat they needed to camp out all night. It is amazing how they can bring everything from the inside to the outside but it doesn't make it's way back in that easily!
Coco and Lindsey Jo came to visit on their way to Gulfport to help get ready for the triple baptisms. Coco knows that I'm planning a garage sale so she graciously brought me a truck load from her house. Included in the load were these hats that Bennett liked immediately. Check out Parker's shirt -- a cat wearing a witch's hat and riding a broom. She is wearing it in August but come October she wouldn't think to put it on. These two are pretty dangerous these days when they get together.

Lindsey graciously swam with the children all afternoon on Saturday and they had a ball. Below Langley is going off the diving board!

Just a cute picture....I love pigtails!

This little girl loves to color!

I know...lots of Langley but she is just too cute! She is wearing a monster truck PJ top and dinosaur bottoms....gotta love hand-me-downs!

Langley and Josie sharing and playing together.

They are adorable when they play together!

Sorry this post is so late! The children are keeping me very busy these days. Below is the party invitation for Bennett and Langely's Cars and Cuties party in August. I can't seem to get the it to rotate. A friend of mine is super talented and brought the boy and girl party theme to life! Wish you all could've been here. We had a great time as you can see from the many pictures below.

Langley is the first of my children to get upset when being sung Happy Birthday. Daddy liked being there to grabe her though!

Bennett was more than ready to blow out his candles.
Langley double fisting the dum dum suckers!

Kids going crazy for candy from the pinata!

Langley taking a swing at her crown pinata

Just as cute as she can be!

Bennett's pinata wasn't one that you swung at but pulled strings....not as much fun but it was filled with candy and that is all they cared about.

Everyone having a good time

The big boys

We had a pool full

Penny even joined the festivities.

Langley and her daddy!

Silly girl

Cathy did a great job with the cakes once again. Sarah, Crissie - I have this crown pan if you want to borrow it.
