Where did April go?

We had some cold wet weather in April but the children found one weekend to swim and it was freezing! Usually Bennett doesn't like the cold water but I couldn't get him out.
Langley on the other hand didn't get in any further than the steps.
She found a warm spot sitting in the sun.
April also brought Bennett's first visit from the tooth fairy...
And a second visit a week later!

Langley went to the beauty shop to get her Summer bob....I couldn't convince Parker that short hair is better though.
Bennett began his coach pitch league. We are so lucky that Bennett has Sutton as a teamate because he has the cutest little twin brothers that were in Langley's class. They definitely keep each other busy so I can enjoy the game.
We finally managed to find a nice Saturday to visit the hunting camp and do a little fishing.
And on the second cast no less! Of course we had to throw it back.
Parker spent most of her day trying to catch tadpoles with her hands and she managed to snag a few.
Towards the end of the school year for Bennett (his last day was May 2nd!!) he realized not much was going on and didn't want to go. On this day he wasn't feeling all that well and after his doctor's appointment I took him to work with. My little George Constanza sat under my desks coloring pictures most of the day.
Just another cute craft that came home from school. Oh how fast they grow!
Not quite sure what this is. This girl leaves me with some many questions! I'm thinking it was so that the cat could get on the bed without having to jump?
On Uncle Brian's 40th birthday Langley spent hours creating the most "perfect" card! She was very proud.
And that was April in a nutshell! I think May has been a little more exciting....I guess you'll see!

Easter Sunday

Bennett and Langley and I decorated a few of our own eggs so we could make sure and have some deviled eggs for Easter Brunch! I got this great kit that didn't require any vinegar. It included a few dye packs that you put in a baggie and rubbed it all over the egg giving it a shimmery sponged look.

I also found these little Q tip type dye stick so they could color and draw. They were a big hit with my budding artists!

On Easter Sunday the Easter Bunny usually leave their buckets by the front door so they would be ready to hunt eggs but everything was so wet he hid them in the den and a few on the back patio.

What was so funny was that Bennett woke up really early and went to the den to watch TV and never saw the Easter Eggs hidden all over until it was time to hunt!
Wish we could of all been together to celebrate this wonderful holiday! Clif and and I sure did miss the fun and excitement of the adult egg hunt! Maybe next year!

Other March happenings

Parker and I have started playing checkers but she is quick to beat me! I'm going to introduce her to chess and backgammon soon!
In an effort to promote wearing our helmets while riding around in the neighborhood we have updraded.....Parker is a trendy cat and Bennett wears an awesome mohawk!
I love this pretty 1st grader!!
Our annual fondue dinner with the Balthrops was another success! Every year we try and have it close to Valentine's Day but sometimes it just doesn't happen. Most of the time it looks like we had a dinner party for 25 instead of only four! But it is also a good time!

You might be wondering who took the picture...... Bennett! Not to bad!

Easter at the Club 2013

Easter this year was very rainy but it didn't stop us from celebrating the death and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ! We had a lot of indoor Easter egg hunting but as you can see that didn't stop our little preschooler....she won 1st place! Funny thing is that this year Bennett didn't win anything and he threw an enormous fit just as Parker did the year before. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it but this blog is my documentation that he acted like a complete BABY!
Parker and Ruby ready to hunt eggs!
Having dun on a rainy day! Thanks to Katherine for the paint your own umbrella for Langley's birthday last year.
Of course, Big brother had to get in the mix of the rainy day fun!
