December 2013 in review

December arrived quickly at the Barnes home and we embraced it. The children dove into decorating "their" Christmas tree and had a great time. I try not to get involved. The fancy Christmas tree (as Langely called it) was also decorated with their help but they had to place the ornaments with a little direction from me :)

I finally convinced Parker to get a little trim and the Greenwood cousins had their annual gift swap and cookie decorating party.

YUM!!

Parker as Mary in our church's Christmas Mass. There were quite a few Barnes in the program and they were all angels.

Since the Barnes girls can't agree on vanilla or chocolate, Jesus had a multi-flavored and decorated cake for his birthday!
And Santa brought the girls a doll house taller than Parker! Next year Santa might need to double check dimensions :)
A little girl and her baby doll out in the bitter cold. Brrr! The Barnes Clan had one more chance to visit with Santa at the Club.

More s'mores by fireside

Otis and his crazy antics left us with a sweet goodbye note
Just a regular car ride home from dining out.....never a dull moment!
"Iceless" ice skating came to Greenwood and was a big hit even though the temperatures were freezing! Bennett had a hard time staying on his feet but Parker, Langley and Cathy were more cautious.
Langley and I after her Christmas program at her preschool. Langley enjoyed her classroom party.

Just a random day of playing during Christmas break. Don't forget to check out Parker's outfit -- I'm sure that was just one of many during the day. Her sense of style never ceases to amaze me!
At Pillow Academy during the month of December, the kindergarten class treats the morning carpool to a live nativity and this year Bennett was Joseph. We were excited and he was too!

We hope that everyone had a blessed Christmas Season!

And November 2013 flies by

And it's Thanksgiving time! The pictures are a little out of order....Also the only pictures of the adults were taken by Langley and looked mostly like this one :)
It appears that Bennett didn't want to have his picture taken but that won't stop me!
 Sisters
It wasn't even Thanksgiving when this Santa came to visit at the Alluvian!
Clif and I were able to take in a an evening football game without the kiddos!
This picture makes me want to be pulled in a wagon! Silly girl!
 Langley rediscovered footed PJs
S'mores via fireplace is a frequent fall/winter treat at the Barnes house

 And it's my lil' Pilgrim

 Good ole fashion Twister
 Who is this crazy uncle?
And lastly its a birthday celebration for YaYa!

October 2013 in pictures

Well, Summer is over and the kids are back in school (pictures to com soon!) and I promised myself that I would catch up the blog before it was over....and it didn't happen but I'm pressing on to get y'all caught up anyway. Below are just a few pictures taken in October.  The first is a selfie of Bennett and I waiting in the carpool line for Parker. Thank goodness I don't have to wait in the double carpool line this year to pick them up since they are both in the elementary building!! Woo! Hoo! You just don't understand unless you live in Greenwood.
Bennett sliding down the enormous slide at Bull Bottom Farms on his class field trip.
Mrs. Pannell's Kindergarten class
Langley's preschool visited as well!

Our favorite Halloween decoration! Unfortunately the motor went out on it :(
We meet the Homecoming Queen! As soon as we walked up to our Delta Dawgs tent she arrived and the girls were thrilled! Her name is Jenni Brown and she is graduate of Pillow Academy.
Langley thought she wanted to go swimming and then she felt the water. Brrrr!
Our church has a HUGE spaghetti supper and Halloween carnival every year. This was the first time to have it outdoors and it was great! Langley the princess had her face painted like a cat.
Bennett was already out trick or treating before I could snap a picture.
